What the Free plan includes.
The Free plan is for creating short, finished captioned videos without a trial clock or product watermark. Every number below comes from the same configuration that enforces the product limits.

Start editing before creating an account
You can begin with a guest project, upload a supported video, generate captions, and make corrections before signing in. A guest project remains available for 24 hours. Sign-in is required when you choose to download, because exports and saved projects need an account for ownership, quota tracking, and later access.
Video duration and upload size
Each Free-plan video can be up to 10 minutes long and the uploaded file can be up to 500 MB. Both limits apply to the same upload: a short file over the size limit and a small file over the duration limit are rejected. The server checks the actual media duration after upload rather than trusting the file name or browser metadata.
Automatic subtitles and editing
A Free project includes automatic transcription, timed caption segments, transcript correction, subtitle styling, and preview on the uploaded footage. You can fix names, punctuation, wording, and line breaks before exporting. The plan supports one active export at a time, so wait for the current render to finish before starting another.
Watermark-free MP4 exports
A Free account receives 3 captioned MP4 exports per calendar month at up to 1080P. The styled captions are burned into the picture and the finished video does not include an Auto Subtitle Generator watermark. A failed export releases its reserved credit, while a successful render counts against the month in which it was started.
SRT, VTT, and TXT downloads
Separate subtitle downloads are available as SRT, VTT, and TXT. SRT and VTT preserve cue timing for editors, platforms, and video players; TXT contains the spoken text without timing. Downloading one of these text formats does not use an MP4 export credit, which makes it possible to continue a caption workflow in another application.
Projects and file retention
A Free account can hold up to 25 projects. Project media is retained for 7 days, so download any finished files you need to keep rather than treating the workspace as permanent storage. Removing an old project creates room under the project limit, but deleted media should be considered unrecoverable.
When the Starter plan becomes useful
Starter raises the per-video limit to 120 minutes, the upload limit to 5 GB, and resolution to 4K. It also adds batch work, custom fonts, a brand kit, priority processing, more concurrent exports, and longer retention. Stay on Free when the published limits fit; upgrade when a real project crosses one of them.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Free plan add a watermark?+
No. Both the Free and Starter plans export without an Auto Subtitle Generator watermark. The Free plan limits the number, duration, size, resolution, projects, and retention instead.
When do the free MP4 export credits reset?+
The 3 Free-plan MP4 export credits reset by calendar month. Subtitle-only SRT, VTT, and TXT downloads do not consume those MP4 credits.
Do I need a credit card for the Free plan?+
No credit card is required to use the Free plan. You need to sign in to claim the project and download an export, but a paid subscription begins only when you deliberately choose an upgrade.
Can I upload a video longer than 10 minutes?+
Not on Free. Trim or split the source into shorter projects, or use Starter for videos up to 120 minutes. The duration check uses the uploaded media rather than the file name.
What happens when project retention expires?+
Free project media is retained for 7 days. Export and download the files you need before that window ends; the product is an editing workspace, not long-term video storage.
