Free is a usable plan, not a watermarked trial

Free costs $0, supports videos up to 10 minutes and 500 MB, stores up to 25 projects, and includes 3 watermark-free MP4 exports per calendar month at up to 1080P. SRT, VTT, and TXT downloads are not deducted from the MP4 quota. No payment card is required until you deliberately start a paid checkout.

Starter is for larger or repeated production work

Starter costs $7 monthly or $60 yearly, a 29% saving against twelve monthly payments. It supports videos up to 120 minutes and 5 GB, 200 MP4 exports per month, 4K, 3 concurrent renders, and 90-day media retention. It also enables batch work, custom fonts, a brand kit, translation, and priority processing.

Monthly and annual subscriptions

Monthly Starter renews each month at the displayed monthly price. Annual Starter charges the displayed yearly price for a year of access and has a lower effective monthly cost. Taxes, currency conversion, and bank fees can vary by location or payment method and are shown by the checkout provider before confirmation. Review the interval on the checkout screen; changing a browser tab or leaving checkout does not itself create a subscription.

What happens immediately after an upgrade

A confirmed Starter subscription raises the current account limits without requiring a new account or project. MP4 exports already used in the current period still count: if 3 Free exports were used, Starter adds access up to its 200-export limit rather than resetting usage to zero. Projects already in the account remain available subject to the new retention and project limits.

How MP4 export credits are counted

A credit is reserved when a new MP4 render starts and committed only when that render succeeds. A failed or user-canceled render releases the reservation. Re-downloading the same completed export is free. Changing caption text, styling, timing, or another render input creates a new export and uses a credit when successful. SRT, VTT, and TXT downloads remain separate from the MP4 quota on both plans.

Manage payment details, invoices, and renewal

A Starter user can open Manage billing from the account menu. The hosted billing portal is the correct place to view invoices, update the supported payment method, and manage renewal because payment-card details are handled by the billing provider rather than stored by Auto Subtitle Generator. A Free user sees the pricing and upgrade path instead because there is no paid subscription to manage.

Canceling a Starter subscription

Cancel through Manage billing in the account menu. Cancellation stops the next renewal; paid access normally continues until the end of the current billing period, then the account returns to Free limits. Download important files before the paid retention window ends. Canceling a renewal is different from deleting an account and does not automatically refund past charges.

Billing errors, duplicate charges, and refunds

Check the billing portal and invoice first when a charge is unfamiliar. For a duplicate charge, incorrect amount, checkout failure, or other billing error, contact support with the account email, invoice identifier, date, and amount. Do not send full card details. Refund requests are reviewed under the published refund policy and any rights required by applicable law; cancellation by itself applies to future renewal rather than automatically reversing an earlier payment.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Free plan put a watermark on exports?+

No. Free and Starter MP4 exports have no Auto Subtitle Generator watermark. The plans differ through usage, size, duration, resolution, features, and retention limits.

Does an annual plan charge monthly?+

No. The annual Starter option is billed at $60 for the year, while the monthly option is $7 per month. Confirm the interval in checkout.

Where do I cancel or download an invoice?+

Open the account menu and choose Manage billing. The hosted portal manages invoices, payment details, and cancellation for an active Starter subscription.

Do failed exports reduce my monthly quota?+

No. Failed and canceled renders release their reserved credit. Only a successful new MP4 render commits it; subtitle-only downloads do not use MP4 credits.

Does canceling immediately remove Starter access?+

Normally no. Cancellation stops future renewal and Starter access continues through the current paid period, unless a refund, chargeback, or required account action changes it sooner.
