Why do other free subtitle tools watermark?
A watermark is not a technical necessity. It is an upgrade prompt, and it works by making free output unusable for the thing you wanted it for.
The watermark is the business model
On most free tiers the mark exists so the output cannot be posted as-is. Removing it is the product being sold, which is why it never comes off on the free plan.
We limit how many, never how good
The free plan gives 3 video projects a month at 1080P, and revised downloads of a project reuse its slot. Every style can be previewed; Podcast Lower Third and Documentary export on Free, and premium styles need Starter.
No resolution trap either
Free output is not downscaled or re-encoded to look worse. The upgrade buys volume, length, 4K and premium caption styles, not the removal of a watermark.

The free allowance is 3 video projects per month, including revised downloads of the same project. Subtitle files stay unmetered, but finished video is capped, and the counter resets monthly rather than rolling over.
Your videos run past 10 minutes
Free uploads stop at 10 minutes and 500 MB. Starter raises that to 120 minutes and 5 GB, which is also the ceiling on any plan.
You need the file kept for a while
Free projects and their source files are deleted after 7 days, and guest uploads after one. That is a promise about your data, not a storage limitation, so download what you want to keep.

Every style can be previewed, but only Podcast Lower Third and Documentary export on Free. Accounts created before 4 October 2026 keep Clean Minimal and Documentary instead. There is no watermark and no lower resolution below 1080P.
How long can a free video be?+
Up to 10 minutes and 500 MB, exported at 1080P. Starter raises that to 120 minutes, 5 GB and 4K.
What happens to my video afterwards?+
Free projects and their source files are deleted after 7 days, Starter after 90, and guest uploads after one day.
Does the free plan expire into a trial?+
No. It is a free plan, not a trial with a countdown. The monthly allowance resets and you can keep using it indefinitely.
